A live nativity for the whole community
Our mission invites the community to discover the birth of Christ as they explore the town of Bethlehem. This story inspires hope and peace for all mankind. It is our joy to create a historical perspective of the birth of Christ in a family friendly environment. This is our Christmas gift to the community.
Keeping the Star Lit since 1987
A Night in Old Bethlehem began as a Vacation Bible School at a local church that recreated the city of Jerusalem in 29 AD. The idea grew into the town of Bethlehem during the Christmas season. The event was so popular that it soon became a part of an annual holiday celebration called The Sights and Sounds of Christmas in San Marcos. Our goal is to bring Bethlehem to the community for many years to come.
Bringing Little Bethlehem to Life
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the event. It takes almost a hundred people a night to tell the story of Christ’s birth. We need angels, shepherds, wise men, and helpers of all kinds!
Costumes and training are available. There is a place for everyone in the Christmas story.
